JUDE POKORNY REPRODUCTIONS
"EMMA'S CHAIR"
Unable to weed her garden now,
She sits in the
Late day sun.
The century-old
Flower bed,
Needing care,
Turns itself back to
Wild asters and
Queen Ann's lace.
Smiling, content in her 90th
Year, she notes the change,
And quietly continues with
Her plans for next year's
Garden.
JP
" KANSAS TROUBLES"
Not having to
Go far
To witness mayhem,
Loving every minute
Of the storm.
Gathering reference
While dodging
Hailstones.
Realizing what I am,
Stormchaser!
JP
"PLUM ISLAND"
"Stayed here all summer",
He said.
Passed the Pink House
Each day.
Question on his mind,
Never asked.
Such an unusual spot
For this beauty.
A most unusual story,
Worth discovering.
Just not my tale
To tell.
JP
"TIDAL COVE"
Low tide,
Favorite time of night.
Colors of mud and sand,
sky and water,
All liquid in
Moonlight.
Snails digging in,
Starfish clinging;
Mollusks, too
If you know
Where to look.
In silver light
The night is alive!
JP
"SHIMMERING"
Windless night;
Water, still as the
Earth.
The light,
Dancing on
Glass.
Silence,not
Golden.
Bright as diamonds
But white.
JP
"LAST OUTPOST"
Nothing beyond
That he can
See.
Miles of flat
Land.
Empty fields
He tells me.
Looking out,
I see wildflowers,
Butterflies and bees.
Sparrows taking a
Dust bath.
All in how you
Look at it.
